What’s in our soap?

Rooted in Quality. Crafted with Care.

At the heart of our handmade soaps and bath products lies a simple promise: to deliver quality, sustainability, and integrity in every bar. We thoughtfully select high-quality, non-GMO sunflower oil as our base—never genetically modified oils like soybean or corn. When you choose our products, you're making a mindful decision to opt out of the industrialized, engineered food system and stand with small farmers.

Our soaps are nothing like the mass-produced kind. You’ll never find parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic preservatives, or petroleum-based ingredients in our formulas. Most of our bars are 100% vegan and organic*.

As a family deeply rooted in South Carolina agriculture, supporting local farmers isn't just a value—it’s a way of life. Every product we make reflects our commitment to responsible stewardship, clean ingredients, and the timeless tradition of handcrafted care.

- OLIVE OIL -

We use olive oil as a traditional emollient because it is mild and gives a moisturized feel to the soap bar.

- Sunflower Oil -

We love Sunflower oil! It’s extremely similar to olive oil but has a lighter/cleaner feel to it. It’s does have a tendency to get sticky though so we have to be careful how much we use in order to keep the bard from becoming too soft & sticky.

Shea Butter & Coconut Oil: The Perfect Pair

There’s nothing quite like the experience of buying fresh shea butter in an African market—and that love carries through into every bar we make.
Shea butter adds a rich, creamy texture to our soap, leaving your skin feeling soft and nourished. But balance is key: just the right amount gives you that luxurious, moisturized feel. Too much? And the soap gets sticky with hardly any lather.

🫧 Let’s Talk Lather—Thank You, Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is our lather booster and firming agent. It’s what gives our bars those big, bubbly suds and a solid form that doesn’t turn to mush in the shower. We use just enough to get that satisfying clean without relying on synthetic detergents or harsh additives. But go overboard, and you’ve got yourself a bar that’s better suited for backyard baseball than bathing.

We handcraft every batch with precision—because too much of a good thing isn’t always better. Our recipes are thoughtfully balanced to give you the ideal soap experience: creamy, bubbly, and skin-loving without compromise.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We take great care to ensure that none of our ingredients contribute to rainforest destruction, especially when it comes to palm oil.

While palm oil is essential for creating the firm, long-lasting bars our customers love, it’s also associated with serious environmental concerns. Conventional palm oil harvesting has led to widespread deforestation in tropical regions, threatening ecosystems and wildlife habitats.

We believe in doing things differently.

That’s why we use only certified organic, sustainably sourced palm oil. By choosing this responsibly grown alternative, we help reduce demand for destructive palm oil production and support practices that protect the environment. Our organic palm oil is grown on land that’s managed without synthetic pesticides or harmful chemicals, preserving soil health and preventing pollution.

We made the switch to sustainable palm oil years ago—and it’s a choice we’re proud of. Because making great soap should never come at the cost of the planet.

- Charcoal -

All of the activated charcoal used in our products comes from sustainably grown hardwood trees—one of the most abundant and renewable natural resources in the United States.

Unlike some charcoal sources that rely on recycled pallets or questionable materials, ours is crafted with care and oversight. It's produced under a reputable, nationwide forest stewardship program that ensures responsible harvesting practices and environmental integrity. Most importantly, no old-growth trees are ever used in the process.

We choose this path because sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us—it’s a promise.

Let’s Talk About

Essential Oils….

& Why We Avoid Fragrances

This is one of our favorite topics to share with customers, because once you know the difference, it’s hard to go back.

“Aren’t all essential oils the same?”
“Can’t you just use a tiny bit of fragrance?”
“Surely it’s not that bad...”

Friends... it is that bad.

We choose essential oils because they work in harmony with the body’s natural systems. These oils are pure, plant-derived extracts—steam-distilled from the bark, leaves, or petals of the plant. Each essential oil is a single-source, natural substance, offering both scent and wellness benefits.

So, what’s the issue with “fragrance”?
It comes down to transparency. “Fragrance” or “fragrance oil” is often a catch-all term for a blend of undisclosed ingredients—both synthetic and naturally derived. Manufacturers aren’t required to list the specific components, which means you could be exposed to dozens (or even hundreds) of unknown chemicals without knowing it.

Some of these ingredients have been linked to headaches, nausea, respiratory irritation, hormone disruption, and even neurological symptoms. Many are known allergens or asthma triggers. We believe that’s a risk no one should have to take—especially for something as simple as a bar of soap.

That’s why we say no to synthetic fragrance and yes to clean, natural aromatics. When we use naturally aromatic plant elements, we list them clearly on our labels. You deserve to know exactly what you’re putting on your skin.

We’re here to help you live well—without compromise. That’s why we use only organic, natural, and sustainably sourced ingredients in every product we make.
